Reddit for Black Friday 2025 - Sex Toy Edition

Hi there! Your favorite Gen Z Reddit (obsessed) expert is back. It’s been a while since I wrote a new blog, but it’s been such a busy year so far. This year I had the opportunity to work with some big names in the industry, and I am here to share a few insights for this upcoming BF/CM season.

Black Friday is coming soon (aka my favorite time of the year), and you better start preparing for it, especially if you are looking to integrate reviewers, content creators, and influencers into your Reddit Black Friday and Cyber Monday strategy.

This is going to be my 4th year organizing and planning for Black Friday, and I like analyzing Reddit trends from that year starting in early spring. I wrote a similar article last year, which goes more in depth about how Reddit is organized and just some basic rules you should keep in mind if this is your first time entering the Reddit world.

Today’s blog will focus more on:

Get your reviews in order

It’s no secret that Reddit has become the number one place to look for product reviews. Why? Because they come from real users who choose to share the good and the bad under anonymity. In the past few years, the sex toy community has been flooded with affiliate links, which led many subreddits to ban them or require them to be marked accordingly using a flair. Those people are not always seen as trustworthy. However, there are many users affiliated with sex toy brands who are extremely ethical and will only promote products they truly believe in.

Don’t just push your sales

Stop posting your offers every single day, making it look spammy (and desperate, imo). Give something back to the community. This year I’ve seen an increase in giveaways that actually ask for insightful responses from the community. It’s a way to get your brand out there without spamming about your 50% off.

Don’t bother with an AMA - unless…

Your brand/product is actually innovative and WOW. I am not talking about another bullet vibrator or the newest fleshlight on the market. And I don’t want to sound offensive, but if I don’t tell you the harsh truth now, it will affect your Reddit strategy. A few years ago, you were able to hold a brand AMA much easier than today. Nowadays, only the really impressive and different brands/products get the necessary attention on an AMA. To give you an example, a good brand for an AMA would be Polari Labs (look on their website and you’ll understand why).

Exception: If you have a big Reddit community that is interested in talking directly to someone behind the brand (CEO, engineers, etc.), then go for it. Do the event in your own community instead of other AMA subreddits.

Content for the sale period

Prepare some special content for the Black Friday sale period, such as product demonstrations, blogs, and collaborations with other subreddits. Again, don’t put all the focus on getting a sale (it looks like low effort).

Don’t forget: Reddit applauds creativity and unique perspectives, so don’t be afraid to try new things this Black Friday/Cyber Monday season! Just keep these basic ideas in mind, but let your ingenuity run free. There’s no clear formula for how you should handle your socials, especially on such an unpredictable platform as Reddit.

Hope you enjoyed this year’s edition! In the meantime, I’ll be on Reddit analyzing your actions! If you need help, get in touch with us 😉!
